I usually won't do this preflop unless i have evidence that villain likes to 3-bet light out of the blinds

I like the check behind on the flop to try to hit your 5-outter (as there's no way you're ahead of his half-stack-calling range).
He called off half his stack preflop - he's not folding to a flop shove - not when he has $100 to call in a near-$300 pot. Take the king off the flop, and I could see AK calling that much preflop and then folding to a shove, but that's it. And yes, preflop is pure spew. |
