Turn play
This hand happened weeks ago so my memory of events probably isnt great. SB just sat, CO is a strange character, loose and passive generally, but capable of random aggression. Hes River Vinny for foxwoods regulars. SB is unknown. Am I value betting the river in any situations?
game is going 6 handed. Preflop Hero raises A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG, MP calls, CO calls, SB calls, BB calls. Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] sb checks, bb checks, Hero bets, MP folds, CO calls, sb calls, bb calls Turn Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB donks, BB folds, I raise? |

Re: Turn play
Yeah, randoms have this tendency to think their hand improved in this spot when it actually didnt so they throw these random turn donks at you. I raise this always against a fishy unknown and vb the river. I might check it back if a combo straight/flush card comes, bc they also do this with their draws as a futile attempt to "represent" the Q and hope you fold AK.

Re: Turn play
I like it... huge range of hands he bets here for value that you have crushed. Plus, he might be trying to use scar card value to try to get you to fold to his flush draw.
The interesting thing is what to do if he 3 bets??? |

Re: Turn play
I like to call here and reevaluate. Here's the thing, if sb is bluffing, and its less likley given that there are 2 people in this hand, a raise is going to scare him out and you don't get paid by a hand w/at most 3 outs. If sb has a flush draw, he's calling anyway. CO on the other hand, can have a queen. Unlikely because he didn't raise the flop, a T, a flush draw, or random PP like 88 or 99. Either way I don't see how much value you have in raising b/c you will fold him off his good hands and have him call 2 cold when he's getting plenty of odds to do so.
Another thing I don't like about the turn raise is that you put yourself in a situation where your forcing yourself to fold if you get 3 bet. If you do raise the turn and get called, value betting is correct on the river but how often will you get paid off? |

Re: Turn play
Sure. If you raise here and just get called you should certainly valuebet all rivers.
