well you have to win >51.2% to breakever. less variance than 9man sngs. I've typically won about 55-60% of mine. was gonna start playing some to tweak my hu game for the ds.

Why are sharkscope results for HU gewnerally much better than 9man results? Are they that much easier? Or is it just easier to find a $5K HU game?

I don't agree that HU have less varience than 9man SnG's!!!
You are not going to finish 10 Games in a row OTM but the Variance ist still huge.

niggel,

variance is just a mathematically defined term. it is either lower or not in hu sngs than 9 man. i'm pretty sure that the answer is "yes, it is lower variance."

Allright I'll believe you even if I had read something different in an other Forum (I think that was the mistake ). Furter discussion can be found here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...Number=7996709

variance is easy to quantify for HU matches as each match is a binomial(1,p) random variable. Its a known fact that you only need like 200-250 HU matches to have a VERY good estimate of your win rate. For HU SNGs you need like >1000 matches. This should answer your question about variance. If we need 4-8x more games to know about win rates in SNGs then they must have much higher variance.

What is the buyin? $11 HU SNGs are so easy I consider losing 3 out of 5 a big downswing.

hey Dustin its wes

IMO HU sngs are going to have less variance than 9 handed sngs. I think, after limited experience, you should be plenty fine with 30 buy ins for whatever game you are playing, assuming of course if you lose 15 buy ins you can always move down to a lower level.

I think you would be all in less in a HU sng, also, for me blinds never pass the 100/200 level, where as in a 9 handed sng stacks are a lot shorter to blinds. makes it seem like HU sngs defiantly are going to be less swingy, no?

Dustin you can search the best HU players on sharkscope i think if you want to check out what kind of numbers people are getting.
