Re: TPGK OOP On Wet Board
Wish I could say more, but I'd play it the same. I'm sure the button can beat even K8 on the river so the fold is good. On the turn, betting is good because it collects money from those that are drawing to the straight (and you have to figure that at least one or both players are drawing to the straight). Since there was no PF raise, you shouldn't be too scared by the ace. On the river, not only did the straight come in, but so did the backdoor flush.

Re: TPGK OOP On Wet Board
Id honestly ck fold the river I think. I may get roasted for that. I dont think Button will bluff bet 9x or JT into 2 or vb a worse hand if u check, or atleast not enough to call profitably. I'm not sure our hand is worth a bet here in the first place (altho many worse pairs whose draw whiffed might be apt to pay off).
u definitely didnt OVERPLAY this hand at any point though and if ur gonna bet the river u cant call the raise so NH there. I think the sames true if u check here, you have to fold for 1 more bet. Luckily u dont end up gettin put in that uncomfortable spot too too often. |

Re: TPGK OOP On Wet Board
I think bet/folding is the worst line on the river. In my eyes its between check/fold or check/calling,but tending to c/f since you are beating nothing but getting 8:1.Only real hand you are beating is any 9 which missed the straight draw so you have to decide if its possible you get bluffed here 12% of the time.

Re: TPGK OOP On Wet Board
Fair enough. Thanks guys. jstill, on the river, would you not worry about getting bluffed off the best hand? True we don't have any reads on villain, but it is a large pot HU...?

Re: TPGK OOP On Wet Board
well its not HU when u get to the river so that makes a pretty big difference for me in my mind.
it means he ll be far less likely to bluff or vb a worse hand if u check since the pot is protected. |

Re: TPGK OOP On Wet Board
I would just fold the flop. This is a pretty weak top pair hand to begin with four handed on this board and it becomes much weaker when SB bets into the field.
You are often already behind and when that is the case you are drawing slim. When you are ahead the field probably has a lot of outs collectivley against you. And the pot is small. |

River is c/c, not b/f.
