Default A3s turn semibluff raise, fire river?

6 handed 8/16
BB is a pretty active lag 40/19/1.7, 36% WTSD... lots of tricky plays and mixes it up pretty well. Hes pretty much defending his blind with any hand thats not 72o.

Hero opens in HJ with Ah3h. A bit loose for me but I haven't had many cards to play. Folds to BB who calls.

flop: 246 1 heart
Villain ch/r, Hero calls.

Turn: Tc
Villain bets, hero raises, villain calls

River: 9d
Villain checks, hero? give up here or fire again?

I won't comment on PF. I don't really like the turn raise. I don't think you're folding a better hand, and it would blow to get 3 bet. I would rather just calldown. On the river I still doubt he's folding a better hand.

def do not bet river, bluffing in position with A hi on the river is a total waste of money IMO esp given description . There are exceptions obvi like when villain will take bet call the turn ck fold the river lines with marginal hands just to see if u bet again or if certain cards hit he ll fold (not many small stakes players do this stuff and usually only if ur prone to raising scare cards and give up on the river or make tons of semibluffs but dont follow through) or if better A hi's are a huge part of his range (not true here) and if hes really likely to fold them if u bet.

think about it, what BETTER hands are u trying to fold out that call turn?

I think lots of small stakes players play this way, ESPECIALLY LAGs. They want to see as many streets as possible, before giving up.

However, I do agree this is a check.

Why is turn raise so bad? Not good enough scare card?

I checked behind and he showed J4s... But I guess if hes gonna call the turn here, hes gonna call the river.

As far as the turn raise go, would you rather raise the turn with complete air on this board so you don't have to call the turn 3bet? He knows its very likely that I missed on this flop, I can see most people ch/r very light.

turn raise is pretty dumb when the 10 hits, maybe a QKA i would reraise here. It could look like u have him completely suckered and trapped, it all depends on how easy it is to push him off hands. if he folds easy then i like the play, if not then dont try
