Default Rock climbing wherever

I'm itching to climb. Just bouldering, indoors or out. I don't want to have to bring gear besides my chalk bag and shoes.

Where should I go? I have from november 15th to december 20th. I need to stay someplace near the climbing, not camping since I'll want to play cards at night.

In US or out. As long as the flights not crazy expensive.

Climbing level 5.11d, v4ish, looking for a spot that has a lot of variety.

You not into climbing at Red Rock? It's not far from the Strip in Vegas and it's some great bouldering, I've heard.

hmmm...not a horrible idea, but I'm not sure this is the time of year I'd want to do that. Thanks I'll look into it b/c it gives me an excuse to spend a month in vegas.

Still looking for more options.

Well I can tell you most snowladen mountains where I live are a hell of a lot colder for climbing than Vegas would be.

Unless you're into ice climbing...

You might consider Krabi in Thailand, but poker might be a bitch to set up and the flight isn't going to be super cheap. The climbing is great though.

Absolutely. Might be a bit busy because it's a popular Christmas destination, but instead of staying at Ao Nang or Railey, I recommend staying at Tonsai. Quieter and cheaper.

Also, there is some great climbing on Phi Phi, but last I heard they had to do a lot of rebolting of routes, and I'm not completely sure where they sit on that this year.

yeah, crash pad good for sure, but I'll make friends if I end up somewhere. I'll probably be flying where I go and don't feel like checking a crash pad.

Worst case I'll buy one at destination.

Have you posted this question at rockclimbing.com? You might have a bigger audience of climbers there.
