I wanted to point out that these are the first two episodes of South Park where I actually laughed out loud for a long, long time.
Also, I agree with the sentiment that this would have made an awesome 2nd movie.

They have been working on this since the summer, which is a very long time considering that they usually spend less than a week on each episode.

Hm, so I watched the newest episode after not watching the show for about 2 seasons. Holy crap it sure has fallen off. Didn't it used to be funny? And the storyline is just so absurd and stupid. Can't believe people still watch this and love it.

The show does need to get back to the more practical storylines of the first four seasons like Cartman having an alien satellite in his ass, a talking piece of poo, starving Ethiopians traveling to another planet, and Saddam Huseein having a homosexual affair in hell with Satan.

Watched it again and I'm pretty sure they're ripping off Independence Day to. From the way they get to the "facility" and the eager scientist and saying that they've been trying to get the doorway to work for 40 years and now have a chance to. The doorway is set up the exact same way as in ID. IDK I found it funny.
