Re: 10NL AJ multiway, trip aces on river
call, I like a raise on the flop to see where youre at as well, if he 3bets flop I would muck. As played I would call on the river

Re: 10NL AJ multiway, trip aces on river
I dont get why there were no raises after PF. Did you have a read on UTG? Raise flop and if not, you still have great equity to raise on turn.
At this level and with those stats, I instacall all day. I expect to see trip As with a lower kicker, maybe even 68 lol |

Re: 10NL AJ multiway, trip aces on river
I think your ahead like a lot of the time here. You're beating a bunch of weaker aces here. Villain could have 2 pair as A6, and A8 are both probably in his calling range.
Good point Jose on the possiblility of villain holding 68. Funny thing is, you'll often still stack them when you shove river even though they've got junk after that ace falls. FWIW, I'd like to point out the 2.4 aggression factor coming from a 65 vpip. I know this is a very small sample, but if you take everybody who has 65 vpip over 29 hands for a donk, you'll be right a lot of the time. Anyhow, 2.4 aggression is pretty high for somebody who is playing almost every hand, which tells me there is a good possibility he will lead out at you with any ace, and possibly even hands like K8 on this flop. |

Re: 10NL AJ multiway, trip aces on river
You can't fold trips against this guy when you're getting almost 3:1, although I'll admit that, annoyingly, he played the hand sort of like he has A9. Hopefully, it was 98 instead, but given the tone of your post, I doubt it.
By the way, though, I think his range is much wider than A9/98. He's shaping up to be a LAG after 29 hands, and although I'm expecting to see Ax if the pot comes my way, I certainly wouldn't be shocked to see 3d2d or T9 or 77 or even KQo. |
