Love the Joe Morgan comment. I'd say all top teams fall into the "go by feel" category, for the most part. The type of analyis I do (much based on my growing up with Bill James writing) is extremely new and has not yet caught on.
We have a third annual Stat book (Black Book of Curling, published by Curlingzone) coming out soon and I have three articles in there. One scenario is from a game last year where Glenn Howard, the World Champion team, playing with 3 ends to go and had no idea what outcome was preferred before they called a shot late in an end. That still astonishes me.
