He's already been claimed by the Coyotes several hours ago.

Just like last year, let it once again echo through the hockey halls of New York...

"YOU CAN'T BEAT US!"

Let's Go Islanders!

I look at the Islanders roster and I say to myself... how does this team have a winning record? Can anyone explain it to me?

Funny you should ask that..... link

although, I will say that the Isles looked fairly impressive tonight....held the Rangers to 19 shots.....defensemen did a really good job at their own blueline....standing 'em up, deflecting shots and passes into corners, etc....

I know I can't. I along with everyone else expected absolutely zilch coming into the season, so the fast start has been a great surprise.

Whether it's luck or not, I don't know, but they do play a very steady, disciplined, smart brand of hockey and do what the talent allows them to do. And obviously DiPi has the ability to steal some wins here and there. Do I expect them to come back to earth? Probably. But as long as they stay out of the box, kill penalties when they are in it, and keep grinding, then maybe they can keep up with the low-scoring, 1 goal wins.

Don't know if it's dumb luck or not, but Ted Nolan seems to be able to get a lot from what seems to be not a lot talent wise. This year and last year everyone had them being dead last or close.

Kind of reminds me of his Buffalo teams from the 90s. Having a world class goalie doesn't hurt either. I really don't think DiPietro gets enough recognition around the league. Then again nobody on the Islanders really does.
