Trivial Pursuit
Pictionary Scene It Risk is pretty good too. We actually started an office game here that should take about a month to finish. Should be fun. |

Settlers of Catan is interesting too. [/ QUOTE ] Played this once, didn't get it and didn't have a good time. [ QUOTE ] scrabble [/ QUOTE ] also my favorite, although I've always use it as a euphemism for choking the chicken. |

Re: Post your Favorite board game and why
Oh if we're going with simple very well-known board games then I choose Stratego. I was really, really good at that game for some reason, had like a .900 winning percentage growing up.

Re: Post your Favorite board game and why
My background is in gaming, so I have played all of those and more. As far as a favorite, I would have to say Advanced Civilization, because the trading aspect is really interesting. Unfortunately, it is hard to play for the same reason. I like the 18xx train games, too.

Connect 4.
I totally own at it (Evan has won prop bets on me), it's simple, and it's one of the pure 100% strategy games. I hate luck games because dice and cards and wheels always screw me over. I also really like Mastermind and Pente for similar reasons. |

Re: Post your Favorite board game and why
From my experience, Risk is like a really sucktastic version of Axis & Allies, but whatever I don't play either of them anymore.
Growing up I was a huge fan of games made by Games Workshop out of England. Their more famous titles were the Warhammer series and Judge Dredd, but I preferred their offbeat titles, the best known of which were Talisman and Blood Bowl. But they also had a bunch of obscure titles that were as fun as anything I'd ever played, and would still play today without hesitation if they weren't buried in storage somewhere. |
