Default NL50 KQo turn/river comments

Hi!

Villain is a 40/12/1 donk over 100 hands. I think that PF and flop play here is standard (maybe a bit aggressive PF?). On the turn I was about to bet when I saw that this guy loves to bet the river (he's 5/7 on river bet). According to this is my line good or I'm better not to give him the free card and get more value out of my hand?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP1 ($73.05)
MP2 ($40)
MP3 ($33.70)
CO ($50.55)
Hero ($144.60)
SB ($47)
BB ($55.50)
UTG ($64.75)
UTG+1 ($30.90)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP1 calls $0.50, MP2 calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $2.5</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP1 calls $2, MP2 calls $2.

Flop: ($8.25) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
MP1 checks, MP2 checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $5</font>, MP1 calls $5, MP2 folds.

Turn: ($18.25) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
MP1 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($18.25) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">MP1 bets $5.5</font>, Hero calls $5.50.

Final Pot: $29.25

Thanks!

Love it. Not a drawy board so you are most likely way ahead of villain. I like the turn check in position for both pot control and to induce a river bluff from villain. Often, a donk who likes to bet the river a lot does so because he interprets pot control turn checks as a sign of weakness. Let him.

Pot control!? whats that mean?

If I don't have that stat on villain is it better to bet the turn (about 12-13$) or to induce a river bet?

I think i'd be the turn since this guy seems like a station so he'll call with alot of worse hands.

I see what you were trying to do with the read you had on him, and agree with the spirit of it, but I think more money can be made by just value betting him.

As played, his bet on the river was rather small so we probably lost a bit of value (or he beat us with a BD flush) that we could have gotten if we had just bet the turn and the river if he checked to us.

You do that and you are playing for stacks with TP/GK on the river. OP did a good job with this hand, selective aggression and pot control.
