Re: should i quit poker work full time??
twice in the past 3 years I've had 45K hand break even stretch....(that's NL where I win 4.5 ptbb/100 lifetime over 1 million hands played in my life)
If you're freaking out about 150 bb downswing you SHOULD NOT be playing for a living. 21K hands is not a sample size and 150 bb downswing is nothing....... I predict you're good enough at poker, but can't handle the emotional side. Go back to work and let poker be a 2nd source of income for "toys" |

Re: should i quit poker work full time??
After a 25,000 breakeven stretch from me I took a PT job just to get away from the grind that had become my poker playing. After 3 weeks now I long to get back into the long sessions of poker as this job has reminded me of why I played from the beginning - "To get from under THE MAN's Grasp".

Re: should i quit poker work full time??
I start a new job in August after 3 years of playing full time. Poker has become not only very tedious it is no where near as profitable as it was a few years ago.

I start a new job on July 31st after 2.5 years of playing full time. Poker has become not only very tedious it is no where near as fun as it was a few years ago. [/ QUOTE ] Slight edit for my own story, I see a trend developing on the boards. I'm looking forward to the new job and think I'll enjoy poker alot more after I start working again (because poker won't be "work" anymore). J |
