Investing for Dummies and the complete idiot's guide to investing might be good options as they are both broad and introductory. The "Dummies" books are actually very good from what I've seen. Another option is to read something that may better spark your interest like Rich Dad Poor Dad or When Genius Failed or something. The Inteligent Investor is a must read, but as was said before, maybe not as a first book.
