Da river check-raise bluff
Stars $30+3, villian hasn't done anything worth catching my attention so far, just a little loose preflop.

Re: Da river check-raise bluff
Why do this? I think its pretty bad and hes going to call you with his pair. The way you played it doesnt put you on a set of Jacks, or even a pair of Kings.

Re: Da river check-raise bluff
However, I think a lot of Villains won't show up with either a K or a J here and are on a pure steal, and won't make big calls with an underpair or A9 or something, I don't really mind it so much against someone who you can count to be firing the river with a weak hand a lot of the time.
All you who hate the play would never call him with TT or A9, thats for sure. |

Re: Da river check-raise bluff

Re: Da river check-raise bluff
I'd C-bet every raise of mine so far and figured with this flop against two opponents, slowing down was a good idea.
FWIW, I realize (and did at the time) that I'm pretty much representing nothing, but I still think it's a good play. |

Re: Da river check-raise bluff
When bluffing, you should ask yourself what you are trying to represent.
Would you play like this with any logical holding? |

Re: Da river check-raise bluff
Reasonable range for villain? There's all this talk about what he's not folding but what does he have? I'd say all J's and K's are out.
