If you dont file as a pro you cant use the net figure you have to use gross winnings as your income and itemize your losing sessions as deductions.

You're right

"Gambling winnings (lotteries, raffles), etc. Report the full amount received, not the net amount. If you itemize, report gambling losses on Schedule A, but not for an amount more than winnings claimed. You cannot otherwise deduct gambling losses."

Finance question again.
I’m thinking about putting together a portfolio recommended at fundadvice (thanks for the site Wiggs).
First, is this a reasonable idea? Second, what’s the best way to get started if I don’t want to plop down $30-$50K to start? Can I just buy one fund to start and work my way down the list as I get money or will the volatility be too crazy? Sorry if I’m a noob.
