It's a lot more than that. It's a psychological study in delusional denial. And I'm learning a ton about how not to play 1/2. All while laughing my ass off. It's a win-win-win.

In all seriousness, I think you can learn a lot by studying Fgators. We all have some of that "why me?" denial/stubbornness in us. But in him it's so pronounced, and so obvious, you can really study the phenomenon in detail.

It's like when I did comedy, there was this one chick who was the most naturally unfunny person I've ever met. I studied her like crazy to try to isolate exactly what she was doing so wrong. Every now and then she'd bang some semi-established comedian*, and he'd feed her a few good jokes. She might open with a good joke and get a few muffled laughs. But then invariably she would never get another laugh, no matter how good the material. I was totally fascinated to try to isolate whatever thing she exuded to immediately turn the audience off like that. Obviously in hopes of figuring it out and minimizing that trait in myself.

Much the same with FGators.

*This girl wasn't even hot. She was extremely homely, about 150 lbs and 5'2". Fat male comedians are so desperate and so shameless. shudder

Wow I thought everyone was on top of it. It's the big thread in BBV about the Fgators chart, and the other threads.

If anyone is ever selling a stepper motor and doesn't include a power supply as a "recommended part" and I fall for it again, I'm going to egg your house. I swear I've fallen for that trick too many times now.

On a totally unrelated note, if anyone with a decent knowledge of electronics wants free SNG coaching, help me build a power supply capable of supplying 24-40VDC, 3.5 A.

This is a more common play I have noticed lately at the $60 level. The mid-stack has been block-limping on the button so that the SB can no longer shove into the BB with ATC.

The button is a very good player and I am unsure of what range to put him on or what range to push here.

PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t200 (4 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

CO (t6275)
Button (t3830)
Hero (t1815)
BB (t1580)

Preflop: Hero is in SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">CO folds</font>, Button calls t200, <font color="gray">Hero folds</font>, BB checks

Flop: (t500) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, <font color="red">Button bets t200</font>, <font color="gray">BB folds</font>

[/ QUOTE ]

What non-money-hating reason would the mid stack have to limp the button? What is the value of Button's prize pool equity at the beginning of the next hand if SB and BB get it in 10% of the time? 5%? 50%? See where this is going?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I see your point and it is absolutely correct. This guy is a big winner at the $60's so it must mean that he either a) Misclicked or b) Aces, Kings, Queens? Even then I don't like that line on the bubble.

Yeah I guess you could try that with a monster if you thought SB or BB were PVS-y, and unknowns. But I'd still rather raise it to 500 in that case. Looks like a steal to an unknown but doesn't give a totally free flop.

s,

clearly, you should watch Top Gun. Both songs are in it.

Top Gun soundtrack is a great CD to have in the car.

In fact, I'm going to watch TG tonight. I cry everytime Goose dies, though.

I know like 10+ Australians through travelling and college and every single one of them absolutely loves Top Gun.
