Giuliani blasted in the Room full of Situations.
Jim Riches a current NYFD fire chief just BLASTED Rudy on his leadership before and during 9/11. Citing inoperable radios lack of cooperation b/w agencies and many other points, he tried to discredit the endorsement given by the 9/11 co-chair for Giuliani.
Blitzer asked him if he was gonna form a 527, a group with no affiliations to or candidates, that will attack Giuliani in tv ads. Riches said they have discussed it with their lawyers and will be making that decision soon.

this will help Giuliani alot imo, no one is going to remember some smalltime bs about radios and other details compared to the positive direction he helped move the country after 9-11.
also it gives RG someone to fight against, he's pretty good at that.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't know... NY fire chief coming out and blasting him has to carry with the American voter to some degree. This could easily be more damaging than Vietnam boat folks v. Kerry.

[/ QUOTE ] Except that people are very easy to forgive mistakes made by politicians, given that they had little reasons to see the catastrophe coming. They put the blame on the people who actually did the event. This situation isn't analogous to Kerry because the SBV were "confirming" a bias about Kerry (that he is a waffling twit)... The fire chief has to completely reverse America's thinking about RG, a thinking that was developed after months of newscoverage on live TV. The fire chief will never get that kind of exposure and won't be able to dent RG much at all.

the difference between RG and Kerry's swiftboat problems is that RG can drag out families of victims who will give contemperaneous accounts to offset any negatives. Kerry had no response, and still doesnt to this day.

Once its rolled out nationally its bound to hurt. I dont see it happening in the primaries though, the GOP keeps a pretty tight reign on mud against someone who is likely to have to defend that position in the general.

Something like this can only stand to harm Rudy "The 9/11anator" Guiliani Also, lol at positive direction he helped the country with post 911. What did he do to help us move in this direction?
