Default Stupid boat situation

No reads; UTG has just sat down and posted which you would think doesn't make him too bright, although you see this a lot on iPoker.

On the river it looks like I am getting valuetowned. I couldn't imagine that he would be trying to bluff me off a split, but I have no idea really. Call here? Bet/call river instead so it's easier?

3/6 NL, 6 players

Stacks:
UTG $600
MP $167.85
CO $89.30
BTN $575.10
SB $18.00
Hero (BB) $600

Preflop: Here is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG checks, 3 folds, SB calls, Hero checks.

Flop ($24): 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB bets all-in $12, Hero raises to $36, UTG calls $36

Turn ($108): 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Hero bets $70, UTG calls $70

River ($248): 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero checks, UTG bets all in $488, Hero?

since he posted and checked along with SB not having much and just calling, I think raising preflop is much better than checking. River I think is a fold, Really poor odds, since often you only get half the pot, and I think it is a 5 more often than a wrose hand.

pretty sick spot
i think this is a reasonably easy fold though
its not a air, so its a 9,5 or overpair that whiffed the limp RR

the only thing you are kool with is the 9 and then you only get like 124 (maybe)

I don't think I fold, people do crazy things. I have difficulty putting him on a hand which beats us, except for a 5, but they never valuetown quads this way.

I don't see why it can't be a value town for a five especially if the consensus becomes we should call with a nine here. I mean I totally agree what you said about how no hands make sense though.

Pretty easy fold, this is a split at best, and a five more often then you think.

So let me get this straight, he calls a bet/raise with a 5, just smooths the turn with a 5, then shoves the river all in after we show weakness with a 5?
