Do waitresses really card people who are gambling? I have never seen this.

I card kids who have just won a big pot from me.

Timing is evertything.

[/ QUOTE ]

This has actually happened to me, I play in Florida where the age is 18 (I'm 20) and everyone else's average age is like 75...so they hate anyone young and a few times they've made comments that I look young and the dealer has carded me after I'm already seated.

Waitresses card people if they order drinks.

@ op Speaking from experience, they just ask you to leave but they can't take your money. If they see you again they either have security escort you out, or have you arrested. Ive also been carded by the floor and seen the floor card people so its not unusual.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've never seen a waitress card someone who was gambling when they ordered a drink. I imagine that if they did, they'd get a "Wtf, I'm here gambling, aren't I?" type of response.

FWIW, I've seen several people carded at the Borgata, never at the Taj. Could just be by chance though.

At the beginning of the summer when Borgatta started caarding people excessively I asked one of the pit bosses in the BJ section why they were doing it, he told me that it was because they had just caught a bunch of underage people gambling in the casino (this was back in June). I am 23 but I was getting carded left and right, except for the dealers that knew me. I was there last weekend and didnt get carded once...could be because the summer is over and the kiddies are back at school.

Where I live (Edmonton, Canada) if you walk into a casino, you get ID'd... And get asked to leave... Its not like they are going to kick the [censored] outta him for not "proving" hes 21 ^^

[/ QUOTE ]

Casinos have a tendency to not pay off if you're < 21. Spin up a JP on a slot machine, no payoff since the wager is illegal. Poker rooms have a tendency to ID up front, so your brother wouldn't be out money except for the fact that he's paying to be in AC for no reason.

[/ QUOTE ]

I should clarify - this isn't our first trip to AC, we've played poker there many times and never been carded. However, there is a slight fear now that if they do card him while he's sitting at the table, what would they do?

I could have sworn we have people that work at casinos here, no?

[/ QUOTE ]

Im a floor in CT and have never asked for ID for someones age. Neither have 95% of the other floors either. Security will but floors hardly ever. I would stay away from Slots and the waitresses may card you so just play and keep a low profile.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow.

Back when I was around 21, my friends and I got carded at the Trop a couple times, and at the Taj twice. I've seen the Borgata people card people left and right. In the pits, they would stamp the youngsters' hands so they wouldn't be repeatedly asked by every employee they walked past.

Did your brother (not you, your brother of course) lose his ID in a home poker game to one of those underage kids?

[/ QUOTE ]

huh?

Anyways, thanks for all the responses. We're gonna head down tomorrow, good to know if he's carded he won't have his chips taken away. As for the player card, neither of us has ever gotten one - what are they?

If you've been to AC before then he should have his player card for the casinos right?? he should be fine with that, If not you should be fine at the trop, hilton, ceasars, showboat. Just dont sign up for any tourneys

[/ QUOTE ]

If you get carded a casino players card isn't going to do the trick.

Mods - this isn't an underage post, please don't delete.

ANY thread which talks about playing without an ID yet he or she needs an ID is an underage thread in our eyes - LOCKED - don't try this at home kids.
