Players are allowed to be offsides if the ball is not played to them and they do not effect the play.

Re: ****Offical 2007-08 Carling Cup Thread****
In Britain we call the Carling Cup the Worthless cup, as it is used to be sponsored by Worthington (a brewer) and is also worthless.
According to Shaft directive 10101 paragraph 4 subsection D all Yanks must immediately conform with this terminology. |

crazy that Torres plays in the worthless cup ? Cant see the logic on that one.
Still big game tonight when the mighty villa, visit Lesta in the messiah's home coming game. Couldnt really care about this competition unless we get to the semis. It seems even the championship clubs, dont take it seriously anymore. |

Yeah TOAFK, its a worthless cup, but it gets our young players PT, so for us its worthwhile. For Chelsea though, it was everything during last years final LOL |

The first teamers figure that if they have to play it, they might as well win it. |

So like when one of the guys is within a foot of the keeper thus preventing him from diving for the save, even though the offensive player doesn't touch the ball or the keeper is not offsides? ok. thanks for clearing that up for this american noob. Did you even watch the goal? |
