I remember going to get Mario Party 8 from Circuit City. It was coming out at 2 pm, and was 10 bucks cheaper than anywhere else. I was stoked! I got there at 10 til. Stood around the video game area, didn't see really anyone else for some time, then wandered over to the video game counter a few minutes after 2, wondering what was up.

"Oh, we already sold out," was the reply to my query. "But, it's just now 2!" Didn't matter, I came to find out, they just started selling them, at the front, with no warning, whenever they felt like it. [censored]! Now what?

Well, we have a Best Buy just a stone's throw away from CC in Wichita, so I meandered over there, expecting to see some empty shelves. I go in, get to the game section, and lo and behold, see row after row of untouched copies of Mario Party 8. Sure, it was 10 bucks more, but the 20 dollar gift card to CC (since they'd run out of the game) made me feel a whole lot better about paying the extra ten now. Sure made buying Mario Strikers cheap, too.

Just grab a circular on your way out from Circuit City, you can get the ten bucks off by having the cashier take 5 seconds to pricematch it along with whatever giftcard Circuit City gives you.

If you got it from Gamestop they're only going to guarantee its there for the first 48 hours. A week from now you should be okay but it may be iffy, you might have to wait until they get more instock.

To the person asking why someone would wait in line, I don't look at it that way really, I preordered, I paid it in full, I just have to go and grab it at midnight, the line for people that paid will move pretty swift, I don't have to wait in line for days like people trying to get one of the few iPhones or something like that.

If they give me [censored], I'll just go off on whatever unlucky sap is working there and take all my business to Best Buy. I've only been living here for 1.5 months and I've already bought 2 360 games and 3 Wii games there, so if they're gonna try to take my Halo 3 copy then f them.

To be fair, this is my first time at a Gamestop for this stuff. I had a local chain I used back in Iowa where I knew the people that worked there. The Gamestop guy said there'd probably be 2 lines, one for paid one for not paid. That's how it was back home and the lines moved pretty rapidly as compared to a lot of other stuff I've been to, such as book sales or video game sales where you had to stand in one line to pay then go get at the back of the real line. I had to do that for the WoW expansion but it still went pretty quickly, even with 200+ people in line.

All 3 Gamestops i have ever been in have been horribly disorganized and a real mess. If they kept on top of the Stores more i can only imagine how much better they would be.

i'm completely over gamestop, as said in the thread- the place is disorganized and just shatty in general (except for the fairly knowledgeable staff).

i just go to best buy everytime now and haven't missed out on anything that i've wanted to get that was in high demand.
