Re: Fantasy football rules/ethics question
[ QUOTE ]
It's only collusion in the sense that all trades are collusion. I don't see a problem with it as long as both owners are acting for the benefit of their own team. Coulsion is only when one owner acts for the benefit of another to the detriment of his own team. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly how I saw it earlier in this thread. As long as both players are trying to improve their teams, it doesn't bother me. When one team is dumping players to another, then I get pissed. |

Re: Fantasy football rules/ethics question
What if a team makes a trade to another team just so that the other team can beat their division rival and then trade back. Is that fair?

Re: Fantasy football rules/ethics question
Teams A, B, C, D
A is really good, B and C are decent, D is terrrrible. This week is A vs B and C vs. D. C makes a temporary trade to help B beat A since he knows he's going to be D anyway. |

[/ QUOTE ] If the other team in question is using the trade to improve their team then yes. But in this situation it seems like an uneven amount of talent is exchanging. |

[/ QUOTE ] Mason, this is pretty interesting. IMO, if the league didn't explicitly say you couldn't do that sort of thing, I think it should be allowed. It's very easy to prevent these sorts of problems by just hardwiring your league against trades like this in advance. If you have a problem with it, the 4 week rule makes sense. You could even make an injury clause to prevent trades from being too risky. James |

[/ QUOTE ] See that doesn't always work out. Say that: A has KK B has A2 C has A9 D has 27 If team B trades his 2 to team C for A that will leave: A has KK B has AA C has 92 D has 27 So now team B is favored over team A, but they're not favored but as much as they were over team D. Its a big risk. If a team wants to do it then go for it but I'd say its best to just win and not worry about anyone else. Helping team B can backfire on you. |

uhhh that is a terrible analogy [/ QUOTE ] Wooooosh, did you hear that sound. The point is that there is a ton of luck involved in fantasy football just like poker. You try and put out the best team every week but sometimes you get unlucky. So weakening your team is just asking for trouble IMO. |
