Re: Deceptively Interesting River Decision
[ QUOTE ]
With this action vs a standard TAG opponent I don't think he has anything that great, and I'm going to be bluffing this river a ton with 8 high or w/e. [/ QUOTE ] Really? He isn't calling wide preflop. I think a bluff here would be pretty bad. |

Re: Deceptively Interesting River Decision
Meh I just find that on this board they jam the flop if they have anything good. By the river if he has a monster it's gonna be JJ.

Re: Deceptively Interesting River Decision
With only one psb left, it doesnt seem unreasonable for him to check behind any boat/quads on the turn. It then becomes a matter of whether or not he's flat calling flop with sets. I assume not.
And I think he could definitely flatcall the flop with AK, but would he check turn behind when he trips up? maybe, especially if he has the As. So, I think shove seems good here. I just think he's behind more than he's ahead, and its a pretty bad board for him to bluff at you, so he'll probably play pretty well if you check to him (except he'll probably shove AK). Also, like cole said, you'll want to bluffshove here, so its good to show down some real hands too. |

check and then if he fires 1/3 pot you MIGHT JUST have to utilize one of you many "Call" buttons.

Re: Deceptively Interesting River Decision
AK would rarely ever check the turn here so it seems like all we're beating is QQ. JJ got there, quad Kings could play it this way. TT and 99 of course. AA isn't betting i'd think and probably plays the hand differently. I'd say he shows up with QQ around 30% of the time so it's real close.
I think shoving is better than calling for sure if we're calling a shove. |
