Split kings. Short-handed $5/$10
3-handed game on Pokerstars. No information on the bring-in.
(x x) Q brings it in for $2, I raise next to act with (K 2) K, an A folds and the bring-in calls. 4th street I catch a suited T, my opponent catches a suited J, I bet, he raises and I just call, planning on raising 5th street if favorable cards fall. On 5th, I catch an A, he pairs his J, bets, and I fold? Suggestions? |

Re: Split kings. Short-handed $5/$10
Given the information provided, no other reads on villain, and assuming he is not a LAG-tard, his most likely apparent range at the start is split Qs, a three-flush, a three-staight or, possibly, a pocket pair less than Qs. Given his action on 4th, I think on 5th street you are in one of those raise or fold situations, and inasmuch as you are now behind three of his four possible hands, and in bad shape against a four-flush with a pair of Js, I think folding is the correct play.

I like to raise against a sane opponent.

Re: Split kings. Short-handed $5/$10
I was with you until fifth. This is three-handed. I don't see why the other guy has to have much of anything. You don't have to have much of anything, do you? Seems to me that you should be drawing pretty live most of the time. I'd call. Raising opens you up to a three-bet when he actually has something and lets him get off too cheaply when he doesn't. If all he has is the Jacks, let him bluff off his money.
