Genarlow Wilson likely getting out of jail

He's the (black) Georgia high school football player who was sentenced to 10 years for having consensual oral sex with a (white) 15 year old girl. He was 17 at the time.

I heard on the radio today that a judge ruled to release Wilson, saying that the punishment was "simply too harsh." The decision was made earlier this morning so I haven't found any articles online about it yet. But there should be in a few hours.

The state is going to appeal, so he's still in jail for the time being, but it looks like he's finally getting out.

The fact that the state is appealing this desicion is mind boggling. They just can't seem to admit how wrong they are, when it is obvious to everyone else.

Seriously. This kid's life is ruined. I'd like to know how many of those "law makers" got their knob shlobbed when they were teenagers.

Seriously, people lose their [censored] minds when they become authority figures. I can't think of a single motive to keep this kid in jail besides simple race hatred and / or the worship of state power.

This level of zeal seems to be standard among state prosecutors.
