Wherein the hero overplays AK, Part 1
Hero is possibly a little over-aggro pre-flop, but has not gotten out of line too much in large pots after the flop.
Villain is an older gentleman who has played generally weak-tight up to this point, and has admitted to respecting my play so far. 1-2 NL at the foxwoods So, flame away, gents: Hero is in LP with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 4 limpers, Hero raises to $15, 1 caller in EP, Villain in MP calls. Pot ~50 Flop: J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Check Check Hero bets 30 dollars. EP folds MP RAISES to 60. Hero deliberates, asks how much MP has, and calls. Pot: ~170. Turn: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain bets 60. (Leaving roughly 130 behind) Hero RAISES all-in (has villain covered) Thoughts?? |

Awful. Why are you calling a weak tight players check raise on the flop? I also check behind flop quite often bacuse it's draw heavy and we have a lot of outs.

Re: Wherein the hero overplays AK, Part 1
as said ez flop check especially live. that board hit way too many hands to warrant any folding. if stacks were deeper i could see myself betting it though.
turn raise is stupid. weaktightie raised you and keeps betting when flush cards hits w/o fear. hi your done call and hope to hit the river--possibly not even if he is weak enough to fold to the allin if another diamond comes out putting you on A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] |

Re: Wherein the hero overplays AK, Part 1
i wouldnt say he's betting "without fear". i think he's more betting "with fear."
this would be cool if he had more behind but it's like 130 for him to call in a 400 dollar pot. what the hell is he folding |

Re: Wherein the hero overplays AK, Part 1
this is a very easy check behind on the flop. you have a low chance of winning now and there are a lot of cards that can help your hand at least somewhat.

lol, this is so bad. Giving villain 4:1 while behind is bad news op.
