Default line check, .25/.5 live home game

Villain plays very weak tight post flop and loose/passive PF. His PF raise told me he was ahead (by more than a little).
His effective stack is $20 and I cover.

Dealt to hero in BB 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Villain (utg) raises to $2
MP calls $2
SB calls $2
I don't even have to look and I call.

I look at my cards now.

Flop [J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]]
pot is $8
SB checks, hero checks, villain bets $5, 2 folds, hero raises to $18, villain calls $12 allin.

we ran the turn and river twice. thoughts on my c/r for all of it with a GSSFD?

I'd put his range on AA, KK, QQ, JJ, and AKs AQs.

Anyone care to stove it?

Given your assessment that he's weaktight, I like this play, it gives you a little bit of FE i suppose.

Can't remember, but I think we're pretty much a coinflip with JJ+ which makes FE so important in making this sort of combo draw profitable in the long term.

Looks fine to me. Would however, be better with a stronger combo such as OESFD or GSSFD + 1pair etc.

...But for arguments sake, seeing we're short stacked, wouldn't our FE be greater if we open shove the flop? I don't know if this hand is quite strong enough for me to want to pot commit a SS to a coinflip showdown... problem with this is that JJ+ isn't likely to fold here.

Do you think villan can fold an overpair?

PF I thought his range was something like 99+, AQs+, AKo+. He seemed hesitant in his bet on the flop so I immediately cut that to TT, 99, JT/QJ/KJ, AK. I've seen him fold overpairs, but with his stack, I didn't see him flipping one here.

I can see him folding all of that except the jacks.

honestly, I open shove into any pot with any size stack with a OESFD. That's one of my rules. I'll run it twice with anyone if they ask to. A GSSFD I prefer to only do it once and I open shove once in a while, but not all of the time.

I really expected him to fold here with air 75% and call with a jack 25%.

With a likely 12 outer, there's enough padding in the pot already that this looks just fine. I would play it the same.

You need to win 40+%. Vs QQ-AA you have 45+% equity.
