All I know is that I was in Iguazu Port in northern Argentina, and there were 2 casinos there, and one of them had a brochure that advertised that they offered poker. I never stopped in and looked, since it was only open in the evening, not during the day. But this is a very small town of maybe 20k max that is run mainly off the tourists to Iguazu Falls, which were amazing. I was also in Buenos Aires, but didn't see any offered, and didn't really look, since I was visiting my girlfriend, and she isn't a poker fan.

You can take Atlantis off the list, except during the tournament. Their year-round casino can't be bothered. I've heard rumors that the other casino in Nassau has poker, but haven't confirmed it.

And there's no poker in Honduras, if you consider that 'south america' too.

Lima, Peru:
Played in April there, two casinos: Marriot and Atlantic City. Both are located in the Miraflores district, usually where most turists stay.

I played 1/2 NL with a 5% rake (no limit on the rake, it sucked). Players were extremely passive, many buying short, and most of them horrible. IIRC they also had 2-4 limit, STT, and MTTs.

And dude, as a south american it offends me that you consider Aruba, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas as "South America". Seriously, "Poker south of the border" would be the most accurate title for your post.

I opened The Rockefeller Poker Room in Bogota, Colombia in late June. We mainly offer low limit nl cash, as well as a couple guaranteed tournaments a week. However, we try to be as accommodating as possible, so if there is demand for something, we'll do our best to offer it.

Aside from us in Bogota, there is one other poker room which I think does things well, Jacks, which is right around the corner from us. Other than that, there are tournaments every night in the larger casinos. All are rebuy tournaments where the starting chips/starting blinds ratio are an absolute joke.

I know most of you think coke, kidnapping, etc. when you hear Colombia. For those of you who are willing to be a little adventurous and visit the capital, I think you would be pleasantly surprised.

Feel free to take a look at our website, Rock82.com or contact me directly at Oscar@Rock82.com

Thanks for the helpful info.

And sorry for the wrong title "South America" including Aruba, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas, mainly due to my insufficient knowledge.
