GRUNCH: I'm ok with giving up. The only good thing about that flop for you is that it's rainbow.

FYP. Monotone is the exact opposite.

My post was a little generic. I cb in spots like this when I'm up against unknowns who CC my preflop raise. The bet is for info and not for value. I realize that betting for info is frowned upon, but I can find out whether these players will fold to agression after the flop on a broadway board.

Let me save you bets in the future. They will not fold a pair or straight draw, but they will fold undercards. This isn't a spot where you're getting any useful information. This sort of probing c-bet is better suited for 2 or fewer villains on a drawless flop. These are the situations where you find out if villains will peel with ace high, two overs, one over, no overs, or if they'll just fold.

Looks like an easy check to me, especially on this board that no doubt hit at least one of our opponents.

Hey all

I was an incompetent poker player before, and my break from the game has not made me better. I'm back and worse than ever. With that in mind I second the C/F line. If I were playing 1K/2K I'd try the C-bet, but at micro you're not getting 3 villains out here. The odds of hitting a seven are awful and it may not be enough anyway. In fact, if you regularly C-bet in these spots (as in "still got to cbet cbet everything in limit"), I think you're giving your opponents way too good odds to call your pre-flop shenanigans, because they can mentally add a small bet to the future pot from your 100% C-betting frequency.

Cheers,

Smurf
