FWIW, I reread what I posted and I think it confused the [censored] out of everyone, as it did me. I was really, really messed up when I posted it and confused myself into thinking balks don't exist, or something. I don't remember writing what I did or why I did.

LOL. I need to, uhh, not take painkillers when I don't need them.

First question: Pitcher feels he can make a better quality pitch from his wind-up, so he sacrifice the several extra steps each runner will get for that perceived benefit.

Second question: Would never happen. Runner coming home would disrupt batter from his stance and he would never hit the ball. Anyway, if batter is out at first, no run counts.
