Default Another reason not to play at Absolute

I cashed out of AP several weeks ago when the news hit, and deposited my check from Tokwiro, written on a Canadian bank, and was warned at the time that it might take some time for the bank to actually receive the funds and until then I would not have access to the money.

Well, still haven't got the money but my bank has charged me their new rate for international transactions - $51. This, according to the bank, has nothing to do with gambling, but is due to all the fraud going on these days with international checks. And they may charge more for larger checks.

I don't think AP are responsible for bank charges.

Anyway, we don't need another reason not to play there.

This sounds like it is more a problem with your bank than with AP.

And we don't need another reason not to play at AP.

agreed

AP = horrible place to play

but the charges are your retarded bank. My bank charges $1.50 for international checks drawn on non U.S. funds (aka not the dollar)

and charges $0 for international checks that are in dollars.

Get a new bank...$51 is retarded

I was wondering, OP, how long did it take and what bank do you have?

Cuz I'm in the process for checking out a ~ 2000 check, and my bank said it would take thirty days (they didn't mention a charge), and the thirty days expired today.

It's great that the cheats charge you $8 for a check that is drawn outside the US that costs money to cash and takes forever to clear.

I understand that the OP cashed out because of the scandal so thus doesn't apply to him. Anybody that still plays there and has problems should not be able to complain because it is obvious the place is as rogue as a poker room can be.
