Dude, if we're going to argue about swords that have appeared in Sega Genesis games, I'm not sure the Sword of Vermilion even cracks the top five. Consider: The Neisword / Elysdeon, Chaos Breaker, Strider's sword, Valis's sword, and one of those Electric Vorpal Sword +377 jobs you can get in Might & Magic II.

Yeah I played a lot of Genesis as a kid.

Real highlights of that list:

"Tom Selleck is like Robocop with a fancy mustache, stopping robots that go ape-scat insane and kill non-mustachioed people."

"While only slightly fictional, the chainsaw hand remains gory, rusty greatness—as iconic as Bruce Campbell’s chin."

"Hard to pronounce and harder to wield, Thor’s badass war hammer has pounded more flesh than Ron Jeremy."

"There are plenty of powerful objects on this list that let you shoot lasers and whatnot, but only the Power Sword has the power to bodily transform you (and your pet tiger) from whiny royalty into a scantily clad, super-strong muscleman."

I was going to include the Doomsday Device, but I thought no one would get it. Nicely done!

That giant amoeba thing could kick some planet-smashing ass too. "Brace yourselves. The area of penetration will no doubt be sensitive." One of Spock's best lines.
