Re: When you double or triple you buy-in at a table...
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Hey, I wanted to ask what you guys do when you double or triple your original buyin at a table. On the one hand it's great of course, but on the other hand if you have other guys who also doubled their buyin or more you essentially playing higher stakes. On what factor does it depend what you do? [/ QUOTE ] If you are close to your 20 buy in minimum, after triple stacking, you are playing a much higher percentage of your bankroll on one table. [/ QUOTE ] Clearly, if you have more than X% of your poker bankroll on the table, you ought to consider quitting (X a function of your risk tolerance and your edge in the game). |

Re: When you double or triple you buy-in at a table...
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] You only leave before your time when the table's bad. [/ QUOTE ] Exactly, just what i was about to say. Only leave if it becomes unprofitable. [/ QUOTE ] But it can become unprofitable solely because of your large stack size if you start playing defensively and not aggressively, subconciously protecting your win. Everyone has a comfort zone. BTW, never leaving a game that is good is more of a limit concept than a no limit one. In limit, they have to suck out several times to make a dent in a winning session. In no limit, they may need to suck out only once. When the price for one mistake/suckout is so great, marathon sessions, even in good games, may not be the best idea. |
