BB, What kind of a diet are you on? If it's lowcarb and your body is in ketosis this drasticly raises the amount of acetone in your system. Acetone can throw off breathalyzers. If i'm eating low carb I usualy blow about a .03 or so stone sober.

DUI Laws in CA are VERY stict. You can try to beat this, but by no means would I say your chances are "good". I have known many people with much more ridiculous circumstances, and almost none of them have gotten off.

I do not want to sound discouraging, but most replies make it seem like this is going to be a cakewalk. It won't. And $2000 is only the beginning. Expect to be at LEAST $6-$8K in the hole by the time this is done. (If you get convicted)

BB,

"I got it up to about 85 mph"

Sound decision after having a few drinks.

The whole "let's test him 5 times until he gets it right" bit seems like [censored].

In general though, if only to avoid the fuckery that happens if you get caught, avoiding drinking and driving is a good plan.

Get an attorney. You can beat this easily.

And don't do the sobriety tests, ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is some very bad advice. At least in California.

I'm on NO carbs (other than beer)... I've been living on Slimfast and Salad for about 10 days.

I totally agree... bonehead move on my part... the highway was wide open and I wasn't paying attention.

I guess I worded wrong... I wasn't trying to "get it up" to 85mph... it's not like I'm a stunt man from Fast & the Furious... I just wasn't paying attention to my speed... which I do constantly (regardless of beer consumption)

yeah, I said the same thing basically

yeah... I really appreciate the honesty... I know I'm staring down the barrel of 1/2 my bankroll. But if I can get it reduced to a wreckless driving charge and not have to do jail time... I'm cool with it... it's just money
