Default underexposed movies: sunshine

the new danny boyle/alex garland movie. stars cillian murphy, rose byrne, maggie yeoh and the human torch. opened last night. i didn't even know this movie existed until a friend asked me to go with her yesterday.

anyways, it was excellent! subtle and beautiful and perfectly acted. it only played on one screen in the city, so i'm sure it's going to disappear quietly, but it deserves to be seen. best movie i've seen since children of men.

Artsy wannabe roommate saw it with "cool" girlfriend...they both enjoyed it.

I would see it for free if the opportunity arose.

I don't understand why they didn't advertise this movie more. It's by Danny Boyle, has a sick trailer, and a good cast. It makes no sense. I really wanted to see this movie but I had no idea when it was being released and basically forgot about it.

Forgot to mention. This movie was released 5 months ago in England.

On a visual perspective this movie looks stunning. Basically a lot of unknown actors in this film. If the plot is good, then this movie looks like a win win.

Anyone actually seen this thing? Thinking about going to see it in a few hours. RottenTomatoes review has scared me off of it, but I'm a sucker for bad sci-fi like Day After Tomorrow etc. And I love Cillian Murphy.

td,

I'm prob gonna see it today. Given the team behind this, I'm also surprised it didn't get more publicity.

sunshine and pj both have reviews in the EDF summer movie thread that agree about most of the movie being really great but the end sucking. That's disappointing, but I'll prob still go see it.
