Advanced Strategies in Draw Poker
Well, right now I'm thinking of ways to improve my draw game, and then I came across the book "Advanced Strategies in Draw Poker" by Mike Carro, and I wanted some thought of the book before I might buy it.
So, thoughts about the book? Is it worth buying? |

[/ QUOTE ] I have Mason Malmuth's Winning Concepts In Draw And Lowball which covers jacks or better with the bug (I think you should own it nevertheless) he writes on page 2: "For draw poker, high or low, I would certainly study a book like Brunson's Supersystem , memorize [I put it in bold] Mike Caro's Advanced Strategies , and read many times over Sklansky's poker theory book." You have to remember Mason was talking about jackpots with the bug so make your mind up how you will be able to extrapolate from it. Ultimately, you are going to have to create your own advanced strategies. |

Re: Advanced Strategies in Draw Poker
Al is right. You can read all you want and you should but otherwise advanced strategy is up to you and your style. I think best advanced play is post draw because the bets are doubled and that's where you see a lot of value.

Does anyone know the ISBN number for the Mike Caro "Advanced Strategies for Draw Poker" book? Or even better, somewhere online that has it in stock?
