canterbury bluff spot
8-16 canterbury
preflop: 3 limps from weak players in mid, fairly straight forward but slightly frustrated CO raises, hero calls AhQc in sb, bb folds, all rest call flop: Jh 8h 6s - checked to CO who bets, 4 call (including me), 1 fold (peeling is not standard here, but he checks behind a lot on the turn) turn: 5d - checks to CO who checks river: 7h - checks to CO who bets i assumed i was done with the hand until it checked around to the CO... what are opininons on a c/r here? we are getting 4:1 on the play... |

Re: canterbury bluff spot
on flop:
c/r 65%, fold 25%, call 10% so, it was just a mix in lines |

Nobody is paying attention to what you do and how often you do it in that game.

Sooooo True - We need a whole 'nother message board for the Bizzarro CP 8-16 game. BTW why would he suddenly bet the scare card against 4 guys unless he had it? You lost the minimum with AQ off.... next hand |

You're not going to win this even close to a 4th of the time.

Re: canterbury bluff spot
3b pf, bet the flop, turn, give up on the river, unless it is hu all the way, then bet the river. I agree that you aren't winning on a bluff here. Consider all of the over callers as well.
Why isn't peeling on the flop standard? you have two overs + a bdfd. If the villian is so tight that he nullifies your ace, then fold pf. |

Re: canterbury bluff spot
Ilovepoker, your response was worthless why even post that? use some comprehension or dont post a response pls. i am saying i dont always flat call in this spot, i often c/r flop or 3-bet preflop etc - but sometimes i play it the way illustrated... also, this post was not about how it was played up to the river, only the bluff option...
for the rest: because turn checked around, if someone made flush or straight they will bet it out from mid position on river - also, because villain checked behind on the turn it is unlikely he had a flushdraw (especially with Ah held by me) - at this point the only hand that gets there for CO is 99, and its unlikely he checks it around on turn - my thoughts are that some of the players in the middle may have made a ragged 2pr they will call 1 bet for, but not the c/r cold... and i think CO has mediocre holding, 99, or a bluff... someone give some reasonable insights besides last, if i did C/R what can others at the table call with in mid and what can C/O call with if its folded to him? thanks for any thoughtful responses and anyone who stopped mid post and deleted if it contains something rediculous containing robots |
