Default Rockets on the River

Hero had only been at the table for a couple of hands.

Villain checked in at 28/21 from a previous session, only around 80 hands though. I also made a note, from previous sesh, the villain raised 88 from MP and led into two players on a AQx flop.

Getting 3:1 on the river, what is I gone do?

Comments on all streets welcome.

You definitely need to call as played getting 3-1 against this guy, but the hand is a pain. I can't see anywhere you can get away from it if you're beat.

These spots bug me and I probably would have played it the same. I'd like to see if anyone has a better line. Maybe call the raise and b/f the turn?

I fold the river as played. No real draws he missed that he could bluff and he is repping an equity that is better than your hand.

I like a larger raise pf, for sure. As it is, if you're going to call the flop raise, you are well off to get to end of the hand for this price. Keep in mind that you could lose your whole stack easily if he has the queen or 88. As it is, make sure you make this decision on the flop. Either fold the flop (reasonable if you feel he's got it) or call through the river; don't go halfway here.

I probably CRAI on this turn. Would he really raise this flop w/ a Q or 88? I think most would wait to see what you do on the turn. If you're just c-betting AK, there is no value in his bet. If you fire turn and he has a Q then he can put you on a strong hand that you are going to felt. On this flop, he would have to put you on exactly what you have and you're virtually unknown. I think you see a FD or an underpair here alot.
