Sirius Stock - How low will it go?

Curious on what some of you think about Sirius Stock right now. It's at $3.08, a 2 year low. I think they have a solid product that is going to get bigger not smaller.

Wondering if it can go much lower and if you think it's a solid buy. I'm starting to think so.

Good question. I love the product too. I was a lucky one who actually made some money on this stock years ago when I bought on the new Stern news then road it to the blow off top and sold the next day.. lost a bunch of profits that day but still made a good amount. I'd wait until a serious break in the trend occurs. Could be some good money to be made when the trend reverses.

It's only a matter of time before satellite radio becomes obsolete. Wireless internet (iPods too) will eventually be available everywhere and you can listen to just about whatever you want. Drop this [censored].

Why would it be a solid buy? They lose money. They lose more money every year than the year before. They have always lost money. There's no reason to believe they will ever stop losing money until they fold up.

yeh stocks are only actually worth something if the company actually makes money, or has a chance of making money in the future. I dont think is the case with Sirius, and I think the market knows this too, hence it being at its 2-year low.

Get away from tech stocks.

Invest in something like Wal-mart or Costco.

That answer to the question depends if you believe the merger will be approved. If sirius and xp are able to merge I love then it will be a good buy. There is no way they can fight eachother and compete against a free medium like terestrial radio.

I see no reason why the government wont approve it, but I am very scared about the FCC. Those are 5 people who can vote anyway they want for any reason. With that being said I think there is a better than 50% chance the merger will be approved by both.

With the advent of HD radio, I can't imagine why anyone would pay for satellite radio.

Its not the technology its the content. Yes if they merge I believe it will deffinitly be a good buy. If not they will just battle it out until one goes bankrupt and the other buys it out.

XM never made any money either. Unless they drastically raise rates or drastically cut costs, or both, I can't see how they'll ever turn a profit.
