Default Too thin?

5/10 game just got shorthanded. Villan is a reg and hes decent, probably 2+2 but he plays a bit unorthodox at times. Stacks are about 2k deep.

I get A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on button and make it 35. sb folds, villan in BB makes it 125. I call. Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

He checks, I check. Turn is the T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. He checks, I bet 165, he calls.

River is the 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. He checks...is there any value here?

your image?

sounds painfully obvious but it really depends upon how often he thinks you will double barrel here, w/ no good metagame going on I'd just check.

that is a factor but it depends way more on how he would play his entire range of hands that beat you street by street

Yeah I would bet this river most of the time. But doesnt a flop bet look more bluffy? Or were you afraid he was going for a c/r with KsKx or QsQx?

getting CRed on the flop makes me puke and confused. I ended up betting 450 but im not sure how I feel about it. I would like to occasionally bluff these rivers with something like KsQx that I get tricky with though.

If I had to guess he only ever has AK/AQ here when we're beat, slim chance he's slowplayed a flopped/turned set in this fashion. Isn't the real question how often he'll call w/ JJ-KK here as this is a value bet?
