Most of them have played fewer hands, against worse opponents, with much more limited resources.

So if the aforementioned Phil Ivey won the event and Annette took second, would you respond that Ivey was a "paper champion" because he beat a 19-year old girl?

You are either jealous or ignorant. You say it all when you write, "...do it at the real WSOP and maybe I give her credit." MAYBE. You have no understanding of tournament poker if you simply are dismissing her as a champion because the event was in Europe and she happens to be 19.
