Probably really stupid
Villain is like 19/11 but he feels the need to defend his blinds to the death against me. I'm folding to 3.

Re: Probably really stupid
Even if he's defending looser there shouldn't be many 2x hands in his range. He should know this is a good board to fastplay 6x in a blind defense. I don't think there's enough value tbh.

Re: Probably really stupid
I also doubt there is value in this.
He needs to be good enough to realize that a raise on that river looks like [censored]. But if he is good enough to realize that you run the risk of him 3-betting a worse hand. |

Re: Probably really stupid
I like it. Most likely he has a PP or 6x. What you did is probably better then 3-betting the flop. Raising this turn would be really bad because he might fold a PP where he'll at least c/c on the river. Plus a river raise may freak him out enough to just call 6x.

Re: Probably really stupid
It's not really stupid, but since I hate raise-folding the river with a showdown-worthy hand, I wouldn't do it.
But since, even if Villain will only 3-bet better hands, it seems like there's a really thin range of worse hands that will call, simply calling the river is probably the superior play. |

I like it. Most likely he has a PP or 6x. [/ QUOTE ] FWIW, A6-65 is 66 combos, whereas 33-55 and 77-TT is only 42. Probably at least a little weighting should be done, and meanwhile some 2x should be thrown in there, but this raise is for super-thin value (if it's for value at all) that gets crushed if our judgment regarding what a river 3-bet means is off at all. And I guess I should add that the 2x possibilities are at least somewhat offset by the Qx air flop checkraises that improved. |

Re: Probably really stupid
Against a LAG/LAGTAG this makes perfect sense. This guy is a bit more passive than that so for me raising the turn should be best.
