Brian Cashman was on Mike and the Mad Dog today and he said a couple of things that I found pretty interesting.

First of all, he said that if A-Rod opts out of his contract at the end of the year, there is no chance that he resigns with the Yankees. Apparently, this is because of how much money they receive from Texas towards his contract every year. Cashman said that without that money, the Yankess couldn't afford to be in the running for A-Rod. Thought that was amusing.

Also, he mentioned that Joba Chamberlain "comes with instructions" on how he is to be used and that under no circumstances will those instructions be ignored. He was prodded on what the exact instructions are, but wouldn't say. Apparently, they don't want this kid to get 'Proctored', lol. Even though it seems pretty obvious that one of the rules is that Chamberlain won't work back-to-back days, Cashman wouldn't even concede that.

I sometimes have to tune in to Mike & The Mad-Dog just to hear the idiocy of the callers. Today was one of those days i couldn't miss.

I knew numerous "fans" would be calling in complaining that the Yankees should be closing games with Joba instead of Mariano. As usual, I started screaming at the radio and had to turn it off after 15 mins. It is still fun to listen to for short periods once in a while, though. Mike's arrogance and Russo's obnoxiousness usual keep me away.

does the chances of abreu (or any other player) hitting a HR INCREASE with jeter on 1B because he can be seen during an AB?

Shelly Duncan is the older brother of Chris Duncan who plays RF for St. Louis, and both are the sons of another Duncan who is the STL pitching coach. I think.
