"Blind your way into the money"...can you cash by buying a seat and not showing up? Great strategy if true.

I was playing a live tournament a few months ago when an Ace and a King were mysteriously spotted on the floor by the foot of one player. Nothing happened... the floor just gave us a new deck and the people next to whom the cards were spotted acted all surprised... I don't think poker is clean at all, there's plenty of cheating that goes on.

The current issue of Sports Illustrated labels Jamie Gold a cheater (for flashing cards). Of course, it also says Jerry Yang ducked into a bathroom -- at Binion's Horseshoe -- to pray during the WSOP.

I hate this, it's a retarded rule. You can call Jamie Gold man things such as a crook or an [censored] for [censored] over his partner in an agreement. But, to say flashing your cards is cheating is ridiculous

Doping does exist in poker, though there is no drug testing and any "edge" gained by doping is minimal.

Caffeine in particular is the performance-enhancing drug of choice among tournament poker players, ingested in the form of energy drinks.

There are other performance-enhancing drugs, some of which are banned by the IOC, that can definitely enhance performance among professional poker players:

1. Sleeping pills

2. Beta Blockers, which were abused by archers and shooters before the IOC banned them, can be used by poker players to slow down heart rates and reduce physical "tells".

3. Sudafed, which is a stimulant.

4. Amphetamines, or "greenies", a stimulant abused by baseball players and fighter jet pilots. Major League Baseball recently banned "greenies" and busted Nefti Perez.

5. Drugs used to treat attention deficit disorder, such as Adderall, are performance-enhancing poker drugs. 2003 WPT Bellagio 5 Diamonds champion Paul Phillips openly admitted in an article in Slate.com that he got a doctor to prescribe Adderall for the express purpose of gaining an edge agsinst other competitors.

1. Poker is NOT a sport, but a game.

2. Poker is NOT clean.

I like to call poker a competitive game, not a sport.

By your logic games like Scrabble are much cleaner, and just as much of a sport as poker.
