OOT, What is your life situation?

IMO if you have doubts now, you need to get out asap, you're wasting your time and hers if you aren't 100% into the relationship.

-22 years old

-I am a student (kind of). I took a year off to travel and play poker professionally, and I went back this semester. I'm doing an independent study next semester on writing about poker/travel (booyah) so that will be much cooler than sitting in a classroom. I win lots of tournaments and play cash sometimes too.

-Girlfriend of like 1.5 months or so.

-Yes, happy. Working very hard and that makes me feel good about myself.

Forgive my ignorance, but could you expand on that? How can you be "soon to be engaged"? Has he proposed but not gotten the ring yet? Did you find the ring that he's hiding?

Yes, you should be completely shocked and taken off guard when someone asks you to spend the rest of your life financially, emotionally, and familially entwined with them.

He knows me much better than to hide a ring here. Soon to be because I'm just waiting for it now. We've discussed it and know when we want it to take place, just waiting for the surprise. :P

yeah, i too never understood planning an engagement- definitely supposed to be a surprise that is a treasured memory for life for both people.
