AKo Bubble in SB - Call and Let BB come over top?
Big Blind is 800 with 25 antes
CO (5200) Button (t8200) Hero (t3350) BB (t3250) Preflop: Hero is in SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] CO folds, Button folds, Hero??? Assume BB will come over the top of your call 100% of the time. Assume if you push, he will call based on having no read on who is pushing in the SB. What is your instinct in this situation? |

I push.
You need a big pair in most cases for trapping to be correct. |

You have got to push here. It's not even close. AK is far from the mortal nuts. You'll be real disappointed when he pushes 62s and sucks out on you.

I'm pretty sure you just push this because you def. have the best hand.

"Assume BB will come over the top of your call 100% of the time.
Assume if you push, he will call based on having no read on who is pushing in the SB." I'm just such A nit, but under these assumtions you'll be all-in anyway unless you opt to fold AK preflop or to the reraise which you won't. (Or wouldn't he come over the top to a miniraise?) |

If he comes over the top 100% of the time you call in the sb, I would complete and call.

[/ QUOTE ] Ehh... bad wording. I mean he will call my push with say around 20-25% of hands (may vary a little from this range). If I complete, he comes over the top 100% of the time. |

In my mind you still have to push here. You need to win as many uncontested pots as you can at this level.

Re: AKo Bubble in SB - Call and Let BB come over top?
If for some reason you know he will push 100% of the time with any two, but fold to a push... Pretty big read here. I push now and own villain latter since I OWN villain.
I typically bet half my stack here hoping Ax comes over the top. Most PPs are going to call the push, but a lot of Axs/Kxs might fold to a push. |

If you really know his tendencies that well, this is just a math problem.
