hmm, what should i have done different. obv, its a bad beat but im sure i could of avoided it, should i have just flat called the flop bet?

Easy to avoid such situation by folding this crap preflop.

Flat calling on the flop will save you money when the board pairs on the turn, or the flush comes. But you got your money in good and probably folded out some flush draw(s) so it worked out great.

Agree that calling a raise with this hand in the BB is definitely not standard. Only plus about that play is it ends the betting, and a lot of money in the pot.

fold preflop anyway, you really don't have a good hand and terrible position and although you are getting long odds, you have to beat a lot of players.

Flop is fine, the pot is too big really to do anything else.
