Especially since we've had Beef and Bacon already, I'd really like to see something non-meat.

I agree. It's common to add meat to a dish, so I'm sure we'll see some meat+onion or meat+beet or whatever. I'm much less interested in making meat the common trait between the dishes.

I voted {Beet, Onion, Parm}. Beet would make for crazy dishes (it'd be another purple week. ) where as onion seems pretty wide-open. Parmesian would have way more options than Jihad might think; there are lots of foods that go well with Parmesian, and it'd make for a varied, interesting list of meals.

I guess I don't understand the idea of iron chef.....the things that get voted for just have to be included in the recipe? they don't have to be the main thing?

It doesn't HAVE to be the main flavor or thing in each dish, but usually you'll get more votes if it's the main feature of each dish.

then boooo, then everyone really doesn't have any restriction because you can include like 9/12 of those foods in most meals you make.

edit: there's no actual hate here, just had a few to many hombrewed ciders tonight.

The chef whose dishes best exemplify the ingredient shall be iron chef! Or something like that...

I disagree, the secret ingredient has to be the focal point of the dish, or at the very least an essential part of it.

Squash and avocado because I like them. Cornish game hen because it sounds cool.
