Bellagio 80/160 shorthanded hand #3
5 handed, I raise Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG, CO coldcalls next up, folded to BB who calls.
BB is the same villain as my first 2 hands. CO is bellagio regular Terri who is very good from what I've seen. She played a 60/120 shorthanded with me the day before and I believe she thinks I'm a tight TAG playing a bit out of my comfort zone (hence the float - maybe she was on tilt though who knows really). Flop is J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet, Terri raises, BB check / 3 bets. I pause a long while here and 4 bet, Terri folds, BB calls. Turn is 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] BB checks, I bet, BB calls. River is 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and I check behind. Flop play is obviously my main question, and is there a river value bet here? Thanks, DeathDonkey |

Re: Bellagio 80/160 shorthanded hand #3
terri has a small pocket pair, dont let her float worry you.
checking that river is really weak. you probably had the guy under your death donkey spell at this point and he wouldve gladly paid you off with K7 or some crap. |

The river is a bet. You can't be afraid of the 9.

Re: Bellagio 80/160 shorthanded hand #3
i like your check behind, maybe he has j10 or 1010 that might pay off, but its awfully slim. especially how you have described the other two hands on here, and assuming your image is what you are making it out to be after the last two posted hands.

Re: Bellagio 80/160 shorthanded hand #3
Surely there is value in betting the river. He has JT, T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or something silly that he'll pay you off.

Re: Bellagio 80/160 shorthanded hand #3
i think that you may get paid off by hands like 88 and A7 here because the pot has gotten very large. but i don't think checking is all bad.
